Meaning Behind the Design
My graphic design project for the Spring 2024 Global Citizen NOW event in NYC highlights the diverse essence of American women, celebrating their unique identities and voices. Using vibrant imagery and expressive handwritten typography, the poster emphasizes the importance of voting, advocating for inclusivity, empowerment, and civic engagement among women of all backgrounds in shaping the nation's future. It aligns with the event's focus on addressing pressing global issues like climate change, world hunger, and poverty, encouraging active participation in creating positive change.
Global Citizen NOW
Young Artists Collective
Voting plays a critical role in shaping democratic societies, and I believe that art can be a powerful catalyst for change. I explored what happens when these two processes are combined through my participation in the Spring 2024 edition of Global Citizen's Young Artists Collective. This project features the work of over 50 dedicated graphic design students from public universities across the U.S. Each Young Artist in this cohort was challenged to capture the importance of voting from their unique perspective, without political bias, in a single poster.
